Kelsie and Ryan - ‘SAY I DO’ - Hauula, Hawaii
Kelsie reached out to me many months before her big day and I could tell how excited she was to plan such a special event for her and her fiance Ryan.
They had rented a privately owned house on the North Shore of Oahu and I met them there the day before the big event, an amazing backdrop on a quiet beach which had its own wedding area complete with a drift wood arch. Very intimate setting for a small group of people.
Kelsie chose a 6 hour package which included a second photographer and for this task I chose my number one second photographer guy, Toby - we’ve done may a job together and he is awesome. I can always count on him to nail the frames when I’m covering something else.
On to the big day itself and both Ryan and Kelsie were super laid back, Ryan didnt want groom photos and so both Toby and I concentrated on Kelsie as she got ready, her dress was stunning and she was glowing on the day!
Kelsie’s dad got his first look just before she walked out and its almost always an emotional time, even we as the photographers get a little watery eyed. At this point Ryan was in position under the arch and family and friends waited eagerly for Kelsie to arrive. Ryan was facing the ocean with Kelsie at his back, once the music started I gave him the go ahead to turn around and see his beautiful bride for the first time.
The wedding ceremony itself was short and sweet, I mean very short! 8 minutes later the couples had kissed and were walking down the isle with family clapping and congratulating them. It was by far the shortest ceremony I have ever seen but it worked.
After a little bit of hugging, kind words and love shared it was time for the family group photos which we got through really fast. The light was dropping quickly and we knew we wanted to get our couple photos done. So we hopped in the car and raced down to a picturesque bay with mountain backdrops and the ocean lapping the shoreline.
The light cooperated beautifully as I’m sure you will agree, I am so happy with these images! We drove back to the venue for dinner and the first dance, at this point our time was winding down and after a delicious vendor meal we said our good byes.
Kelsie and Ryan said ‘I do’ on 9/9/2019 and we wish you both the very best in your future together!
